Pregnancy:~ Psoriasis doesn't always follow the rules!

Since becoming pregnant I had to come off some of my medication for my psoriatic arthritis and although the medication I'm referring to (enbrel) was given to me for the arthritis it actually really helped with my psoriasis .
I'm now almost 25 weeks pregnant and for the last couple of month my skin has flared really bad. Including patches on my face as well as all the usual lovely places that us folk blessed with this condition will know very well .
At clinic a few weeks back they decided to prescribe me dithro cream again , which I've had before and worked well so i was happy to give it another shot, for the first couple of days i did see some relief and was quite pleased but then the lovely weather came and along did the agony .....from photo-sensitivity from the cream ...grrrrr! You cant win !

So for the past few weeks we've been coping with dead sea mud and as much emulsify and moisturiser i can manage to apply ... here's some photos of how we look today !
Any way the point of today's post is to show you ... That when they tell you 'in pregnancy it usually gets better' , some folks aren't so lucky !
Today i am starting on a new cream called Dermalex Repair ~ Psoriasis , which has been sent to me to try out ... I'm not expecting miracles but will let you know about any improvements i see :) I'm quite excited !

Cut The Rope ~ merchandise review

The last two weeks have been full of grouchy children suffering with chicken pox , Dan got them just before the school holiday and over the weekend Jake's emerged .
Cheering the little tykes up while they have been here has been a task i've not envied . The lovely PR people over at Cut the rope  time travel got in touch to ask if we'd like to review some of their goodies and of course, we jumped at the chance .

Zeptolab’s Cut the Rope: Time Travel, the sequel to its phenomenally successful Cut the Rope, a game which has been downloaded over 300 million times to date. The new game sees the much loved monster character, OmNom, stumble upon a Time Travel Machine, which he then uses to go back in time and discover his roots, teaming up with his candy-chomping kin along the way.
The box arrived yesterday and I'm not too sure who the most excited was ..... the kids  or my hubby !
On opening our parcel we found some fantastic books, toys and a comic , and each item was quickly claimed!

The items we recieved to review were :~

1 x Plush OmNom
1 x Packet of mini figures
6 x OmNom magnets
1 x Cut The Rope comic
1 x Cut The Rope Joke Book
1 x Cut The Rope super doodle book

Jake loves reading so of course he jumped in and took the joke book and comic , leaving Dan with the doodle book. Jake really enjoyed the joke book , which has been written in small chunks making it excellent for children who dont concentrate for too long or who get fed up with large paragraphs . The jokes were quite amusing , and i did find myself having a little chuckle when Jake read them to me ! The Joke book RRP is £4.99 and has 64 pages of fab jokes for young and old to enjoy !
The comic is on sale for £3.99 and comes out monthly , we were given the April issue which came with some fab stickers and a little cut the rope book and pen , which were a hit with both boys . Inside the comic is full of puzzles , posters, experiments, things to make and do as well as a competition page, and is great value overall. Jake is 6 and really enjoyed the little comic strips . His favourite was the experiment page!!
Next up was the doodle book priced at £5.99 Daniel took a shine to this book and although he's only 4 and this is probably aimed at children more Jake's age he had a good go at joining in with the activities in the book. The pages are crammed with mazes, word searches, doodles, dot the dots , spot the difference and other fab puzzles  all featuring your favourite Cut The Rope characters. Both Boys had lots of fun completing the puzzles.
We were also given some magnets featuring 6 different OmNoms Jake was extremely excited abut the magnets and couldnt decide where he was going to put them .....He finally decided to place them n the freezer. We also had a little packet of mini figures. These come in packs of two with 16 to collect. Next up was the item that made Dan the giddiest...... a plush OmNom ,which makes sounds. I must say all the toys and the magnets went down a storm especially when Daniel discovered that OmNom made noises ! He was so excited! The soft toy is available in several different styles . Over all both boys were absolutely delighted with the entire range of cut the rope goodies ....and so was i !

Annabel Karmel ~ Quick & Easy toddler recipes ~ review & giveaway

With my 3rd baby due in September ,  memories of toddler tantrums and fussy eating are slowly coming back to me ,and quite honestly i want to be prepared! after all it has been 13 year since my last baby and lots have changed in those years.
My sister swore by Annabel Karmel and her fantastic fuss free toddler food that when i was offered a copy to review and further copies to give away to my lovely readers i just couldn't say no and with 'mealtime meltdowns' a daily occurrence in thousands of busy family homes across the UK the book looked quite tempting!
I was quite shocked to discover that research has deemed that British toddlers are the fussiest in Europe, and what really had me thinking was that 42% of parents admitted to a repertoire of just 7 meals they cook for their children..... i must admit i am not very creative in the kitchen and i probably fall in with the 42% too
Annabels New book , Quick & easy toddler recipes is due for release in June , but Ive been lucky enough to get hold of a copy today and have a read through the recipes.
The book has 130 new healthy toddler dinner ideas in it that can be made in minutes .  With chapters including  Breakfast snacks, pasta, fish, poultry , meat , vegetables and fruit  there is a wide variety that no toddler will bore of.
Some of my personal favourite recipes from the book are:~
prawn stir fry in a sweet and sour sauce
roasted red pepper and tomato pasta
scrambled eggs with tomato salsa on English muffin
lemon sole goujons
spinach and ricotta pancakes
Mum-of-three Annable Karmel MBE says : ' with parents working harder then ever to keep their family happy and healthy, i wanted to create a new series of recipe books that use fresh , quick and simple ingredients without comprising on taste and nutritional value. What's more , tired Mums and Dads can enjoy these recipes too , so there's clean plates all around!'
she adds: 'The UK's toddlers are the toughest food critics in Europe , and its so easy to feel frustrated and powerless when your child simply refuses to eat certain foods. But the key is not to give in or give up- persist with new foods, new recipes and creative ways to hide the good bits'
I used to be an expert at hiding veggies in my son's food as he really wasn't keen, in fact he still isn't but he does at least try veg now.
I was worried at first that the book might contain foods that might not appeal to toddlers or ingredients that normal Mums wouldn't buy , but i can honestly say these recipes don't have fussy exotic ingredients and they are all meals that i would cook for the family anyway . Making them an ideal choice, as toddlers wont feel left out when they are having the same foods as older siblings or their parents.
As i said earlier , i have been offered a few copies to give away on the blog  so if you would like to win a copy of this fab new book all you have to do is leave a comment below telling me your toddlers favourite dinner and A WAY TO CONTACT YOU , so i can contact you if you're a lucky winner. Good luck.
This giveaway is open to UK only , there will be 3 winners and will close on the 20th june , when the book is launched.
