Trunki ~ Gruffalo Chums ~ By Michele Elton

Trunki ~ Gruffalo Chums

One of Maddison’s favourite things is the Gruffalo’s child, we spend many hours searching for her in the woods near our house (not found her yet oddly enough!).  She is also passionate about drawing and spends many hours a day creating her masterpieces.  So when I presented her with the Trunki Gruffalo Chums set she was absolutely over the moon.

The set comprises of a Gruffalo’s child washbag, which can also be used as a pencil case and a gorgeous little wrist purse which looks like the mouse from the Gruffalo.  As soon as she saw it Maddison decided that the washbag would be an excellent place to keep her pens and I must say I have to agree!

Both items are made from neoprene and are super flexible and water resistant.  The Pencil case is in the shape of the Gruffalo’s child, her details are printed onto the pencil case and she even has little ears and a tail, it is very cute and the detail is superb.  If you look underneath you will even see footprints which for anybody who is familiar with the story of the Gruffalo’s child will know this features strongly in the story.  The zipper is very easy for little fingers to open independently and has the trademark Trunki zip pull for easy opening and closing.   There is a huge amount of room inside which make it perfect for storing lots of pens and pencils or toiletries and there is a very handy little pocket inside for storing smaller items.  With Maddison starting school in September we have been searching for a suitable pencil case and this is absolutely ideal.  The quality is superb, it is really well made and the attention to detail we have come to know and love from Trunki will make this a real hit with boys and girls everywhere.

One of the cutest things I have seen in a long time is the little mouse wrist purse, it is just adorable.  Maddison has a few little purses but I have to say that non compare to this both in terms of quality and cuteness!  Made out of the same neoprene as the pencil case the purse has a Velcro strap on the bottom of it which fastens securely to your child’s wrist.  Maddison loves the purse but she isn’t too keen on having it on her wrist as she has tiny little wrists and it is quite bulky on her.  I would prefer it if you could remove the Velcro but unfortunately you can’t.  The purse itself is fantastic, it has the easy opening zipper which Maddison can easily operate herself and there is ample room inside for lots of coins, it opens out wide enough for little hands to get inside easily which is also very handy for putting name labels in.  The details of the mouse are printed onto the purse and it is a great accompaniment to the pencil case.

Trunki is a name we have long come to know and trust and both these items just reinforce the quality of this brand.  They are hard wearing and I know they will last for a long time to come.  I would without doubt recommend this set to Gruffalo and Trunki fans everywhere.  A fantastic set at a fantastic price.
